MMG to invest US$2B in Las Bambas

China’s MMG aims to invest some US$2 billion in capital projects at its Las Bambas copper mine in Apurimac, Peru to maintain production around 400,000 tonnes per year in the medium term, CFO Ross Carroll told delegates at Perumin 35.

Carroll said projects include installing a third ball mill and expanding the crushing operation. He also said the company has exploration upside. "We have only explored 10% of the concessions," he said....
