Chinchillas bite back at Gold Fields

Gold Fields’ development of a gold mine at its Salares Norte project in Chile has been “bitten” by the short-tailed chinchillas on the project site as Chile’s SMA environmental regulator began sanction proceedings due to infringements in the process of relocating the endangered rodents residing in the project area.
