Not so fast, adopters

Not long ago a senior VP of a major mining company told me the company saw itself as a ‘fast follower’, but “don’t bring anything to me that I can’t visit in the field and kick the tyres”. As my JGMS partner Lex McArthur said in a previous edition of this column, mine and mill managers are loathe to disrupt any part of their process unless it has been tried, tested and proven many times before, and at someone else’s operation.
