Mining Agenda: Caterpillar's metamorphosis, 14/9/2018

As part of Mining Journal’s Mining Disrupted series, Caterpillar’s Jean Savage and Andrew Ransley sit down to discuss the potential for disruption in the industry and how Caterpillar will evolve to meet changes in demands.

Mining Journal

In a wide-ranging interview, the pair pointed to the near-term emergence of the first cab-less haul truck https://www.mining-journal.com/innovation/news/1346343/cab-less-haul-truck-approaching and the need for miners to overcome the "fear factor" and trust machine-generated data. https://www.mining-journal.com/innovation/news/1346345/mining-data-and-the-fear-factor

Given the potential for change in the industry, the emergence of more agile organisations and changing community, government and market expectations, Mining Journal asked Savage and Ransley how the world's largest traditional manufacturer/supplier of mining equipment would need to evolve to meet faster, or perhaps radical, change in the demands of one of its biggest markets?
