Russian sanctions to expand to nickel

Russian sanctions are expected to expand to include a nickel import ban in the UK and the EU this year. With nickel being a critical raw material, and European looking unlikely to be able to phase out Russian-origin material in the short-term, legislations could adopt “carve-outs” and a quota system to reduce the level of downstream supply-chain disruption.
